SUMMARY:Friday Lunch and Talk Series
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Lutz Oettershagen: Temporal Centrality: Ranking Nodes in Evolving Networks\n\nCentrality measures are fundamental tools in network analysis and data mining, commonly used to rank nodes based on their importance. Recently, there has been growing interest in temporal networks, which evolve and change their topologies over time. These networks effectively model real-world scenarios due to the inherently dynamic nature of most real-world activities and processes. In this talk, we present recent advances in centrality measures specifically designed for temporal networks. These methods account for the evolving structure of such networks and have applications in diverse domains, including online social networks, human contact graphs, and communication networks. We introduce both the theoretical foundations and practical algorithms that enable the effective analysis of real-world temporal networks using temporal centrality measures.\n\nhttps://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/research/seminars/abstract.php?id=1261
